Just want to add a short story. That same attitude remains in our own profession. I work at a hospital based ambulance service that includes a helicoptor service. The helicopter was called to ICU recently for a long distance transfer. Weather was borderline and the flight paramedic went to ICU for report. Helicopter declined the call due to weather and we were called to ICU for the same patient. When the flight crew was there they recieved an awesome report. The ground crew was lucky to get the paperwork

When I was in high school in the Fifties, I thought about life and so on and decided on two rules for myself: one was that if there were a choice between education and getting rich, I'd take education. The other was that if there were a choice between safety and adventure, I'd take adventure. I have been true to these rules most of the time, don't regret it, and have found myself in jobs like your present one: animal control officer, hospital chaplain, Indian reservation teacher, bronze caster, and so on. </></>What I'm saying is that I recognize your choices, I know the value of them, and I am grateful that you are writing about them.</></>Prairie Mary
