Earlier this month in Connecticut law enforcement arrested two men from Maryland for having 15,000 blue Fentanyl pills hidden in Nerds and Skittles candy wrappers. This was not the rainbow fentanyl (multicolored pills), just regular blue counterfeit oxycodone 30’s hidden in candy packaging to elude law enforcement. Nevertheless, news coverage following their indictment this week is encouraging parents to check their kids’ candy this Halloween.
These are skittles.
These are Nerds.
These are fake oxycodone 30’s containing fentanyl.
If drug dealers are passing out thousand dollar bags of counterfeit Oxy 30s filled with fentanyl disguised as Skittles and Nerds to trick-or-treaters who knock on the door of their trap houses, then that will be real news.
Instead of covering fake scare stories, the media should be covering why the war on drugs has failed and drug prohibition has only led to a more lethal and plentiful supply that is killing our citizens at astounding and ever increasing rates.
